Suomen Retkimelonta grew out of a passion and love for paddling, the sea and the beauty of Finnish nature. Our mission is to give our guests the chance to explore the magnificent archipelago along the southern coast of Finland and to enjoy the wonders of nature.
Our story
Starting a kayaking business had been Esa Juutilainen's dream for years, and it finally came true when he sold his printing business at the end of 2022, after 39 years as an entrepreneur.
Today he shares that love for paddling by running sea kayaking trips in the most beautiful archipelago in Finland. Our experienced guides take you to the finest spots in the Inkoo archipelago, where you can experience the sea and the joy of paddling in a setting that is both safe and adventurous.
Esa Juutilainen
Esa, the founder of Suomen Retkimelonta, is a passionate paddler with over 50 years of experience on the water. He has been taught to paddle since the age of 15 at Vanajaveden Vesikot, under the guidance of an Olympic coach and an Olympic paddler.
Ever since, he has been a dedicated paddler who has "infected" countless people with the same enthusiasm. He has taught hundreds of people to paddle safely and with good technique.
With his years of knowledge and experience, Esa can answer any question about kayaking and help you find exactly the right kayak for you.
